Now that he’s living with Sam Stein, Zach Cohen is finally ready to move on from his unhappy past. His days are filled with wedding preparations, yet he still finds time to make plans and decisions without consulting Sam and his mother, firmly believing he knows best.
Sam is ready to settle in for the perfect life with Zach but years of bad habits have come back to haunt him. Struggling to accept himself and his future, he chooses not to share his fears, unwilling to look weak in Zach’s eyes.
Real life gets in the way of the best intentions and when their secrets explode, the aftermath challenges the foundation of a relationship both believed unshakeable. Falling in love is the easy part, and Zach and Sam discover that only with honesty can they overcome what threatens to tear them apart.
This is a novella of approximately 25,000 words in The Breakfast Club series
What Lies Between Us The Breakfast Club Book 4 edition by Felice Stevens Romance eBooks
I adore Zach and Sam; they were my first look into Ms. Stevens worlds of fabulous writing. To see that they got a second novella made my day, though for some reason I thought I had purchased this one before the third in the Breakfast Club series. Either way, the intermixing of characters from some of her worlds just thrills me to pieces. The one thing I did notice is her characters from the newest book make an appearance, and I have not read that book as of yet, so there is a slight spoiler in this book for her "Learning to Love" story. That being said, I do appreciate how she is able to keep the secondary characters to a minimum enough to not overpower the primary couple, but give enough background so the stories can, to a point, read as stand-alone (though in the case of this one, read the prior one about Zach and Sam first, just because it's adorable). This story is rather on the predictable side, which is why I gave it a 4-star rating. As per usual, the writing is impeccable, but the story is one that is used quite often. Moral of the fable is to communicate, which anyone who read the synopsis could figure. Zach and Sam are the basic every-man characters with their own personal problems and ideas. Sam doesn't want to be a hindrance and Zach is a total romantic. In some cases those are not heavy issues, unless the idea of being a hindrance is unwarranted and the hopeless romantic side of a person can make someone feel less than. Luckily this is an HEA, so we all know that they will be happy at the end, which is the reason to read these stories; we want to see a happy ending with hope for the future. Zach and Sam are sweet characters with quite a bit more potential for growth, so I hope she continues writing about them, either in their own stories, or as secondary characters in her other books.

What Lies Between Us The Breakfast Club Book 4 edition by Felice Stevens Romance eBooks Reviews
Felice Stevens is one of my favorite authors and What Lies Between Us is a wonderful example of why. She creates such wonderful characters that while reading I find myself actually forming friendships with them.
I would suggest not reading What Lies Between Us unless you've read the remaining series. This is a quick, sweet read and I highly recommend it!
This was such a good book,I love everything Felice Stevens writes. This book picks up with Zachary and Sam planning their wedding and their lives leading up to it. This is the 4th book in the Breakfast Club series and if you're a fan of this series this book is a must. If you haven't by chance read the series consider picking it up you won't be disappointed it's great!
I bought this series when I was about to go off the grid. These are very good books and I like the premise of following a trio of men, old friends with interesting back stories, who regularly meet for breakfast and then each pair off in one of the books. I took a star off because the writing style, which, IMO, relies too much on explicitly telling the reader how they should feel about events rather than revealing it by the dialogue and events themselves.
Too many times a follow up novella shows the couple happy with no difficulties and life just goes on without hardship. This author showed what life is actually like. There are hiccups and things are kept from each other. Sometimes with the best of intentions, other times just because a person is scared. By the time the story ends Zach and Sam were on the same page again and well on their way to happy ever after.
What Lies Between Us is a beautiful little novella that continues the story of Zach and Sam. Getting ready for a wedding can be stressful enough, but hiding secrets from each other gives the grooms even more to worry about. Making a lifetime commitment requires absolute trust and honesty, a lesson Zach and Sam must find out the hard way. With the wedding looming these two beautiful men must take that final step to ever hope to achieve their HEA. A brilliant short read!
This novella was a wonderful way to catch up with my favorite couple in the series, Sam and Zach, as they plan their wedding day. These two are so good together, but like any couple things aren't always perfect. Secrets, angst, a big scare and the general craziness of planning a wedding provide the drama. There is, of course, a wedding and a HEA to wrap it all up nicely. All the men in the series are back and a few new ones too in Jonah and Gideon who I'm looking forward to seeing more of in the future.
This one is something else! If you are expecting a sweet lead up to Zach and Sam's wedding, well, you will get it--somewhat. But in this extended wrap-up of their tale what you also get is a glimpse into how totally stupid each of these two can be when it comes to hiding things from each other--the last thing you would have expected after finishing their tale in "Betting On Forever."
Without giving away any spoilers--and there are quite a few surprises so I could get away with one or two--what I will tell you is that it took me about an hour or so to sweep through this and I could not have been more surprised, or satisfied, in the end. And what I suspected along the way from a couple of new characters is apparently going to happen because Felice Stevens has another spin-off coming in this Nice Jewish Boys bunch of love stories that I simply cannot resist.
